Here’s an interesting gadget for you.  For only $49.99 you can get a TV Silencer or Stereo Silencer, which mutes and your TV or Stereo when the phone rings.  The TV Silencer will mute your TV or stereo and even pause your DVD if your watching a DVD.  Basically its an IR transmitter that you point to your TV and when you house phone rings, the electric pulse is detected(when phone rings) and sensout to the transmitter to pause your equipment.  I’m pretty sure I can get the TV Silencer to work with my PVR satellite setup.  After reading the install instructions on the TV Silencer website, it is clear that the TV Silencer is programmable.  That means rather then programming the mute button, I will program it  to hit the pause button on my PVR.  When the phone rings PVR will pause my show.  No Sound and no missing my shows.  Great for elderly, busy house full of children, and for me home office.  You can find more information at Savings Headquarters.

CinemaNow offers online movie rentals and purchasing.  They also have a subscription service where you can watch movies out of their library.  The service seems pretty good and their prices for purchasing are better then iTunes.  The selection is great and purchased videos are viewable on up to 3 devices.  The one issue that I see is that iPod is not supported.  Everything else is pretty much supported. I do use an iPod Touch, but I also have a Archos that is actually better for viewing movies in my opinion.  Although iPod owns the portable market, there are other portable players out there that people love and use!!  Another cool feature from CinemaNow includes, Pay-per-View Movies from the major studios.  I have never heard of CinemaNow until I ran across it at savings headquarters.  Based on what I found out they have been around since 1999 with these milestones listed on their site.

  • First Website to offer Pay-Per-View movies from major studios
  • First Download-to-Own service for feature films
  • First broadband distributor of high definition (HD) content
  • First distributor of Download-to-Own movies from Disney
  • First distributor of Burn-to-DVD movies from major studios

Check it out at CinemaNow.  I found a good deal on some interesting indie films which are 30% at savings headquarters.  Oh yeah the other interesting thing about CinemaNow is Burning your digital movies to actually DVD using Qflix(special burner).  I am looking into Qflix now, and will post what I find out.

Okay, I’m sitting here watching TV, and up pops the infomercial for easy rock listening music compilation.  The music compilation has all the favorites, but I just hate ordering things off an infomercial.  Not only do I hate it I’ve never done it before.  I’m probably not the only one, which is probably why “As Seen on TV” store started popping up in the malls. So I go searching online for the Easy Rock Collection CD and I find musicspace.com.  Musicspace.com has a lot of the music compilations you see on TV infomercials.  The Easy Rock 4 CD collection is only 29.99.  In addition to music they have DVDS, soundtracks, and all kinds of children stuff like Alvin and the Chipmunks and KidzBop gear.  Got a good deal at www.Savingsheadquarters.com for what I wanted, and a couple of kidzbop products for the little ones. kidz bop coupons
