Napster To Go is a great place for your music. Napster To Go gives you access to over 2.5 million songs and commercial free radio stations. Its almost like the good old days of Napster, where you can download songs freely. The only difference now is its going to cost you $15, but its safe and legal now. With the To Go membership you can fill your Portable MP3 player with all the music you could want. The problem, no iPod. Apple won’t open up the iPod to Napster. Other then every one’s love of their iPod and that includes my iPod Touch, Napster is a better deal. I actually have a creative player as well, because for $15 you can fill your player with new stuff any day of the week. You also get to listen freely to millions of songs, which you can’t do with iTunes. I couldn’t imagine filling my iPod with music at .99 cents a song. I would go broke! Give Napster To Go a try on their free 7 day trial, and you can get a Napster coupon for 3 months and a 1Gb creative MP3 player for only $49.
CinemaNow offers online movie rentals and purchasing. They also have a subscription service where you can watch movies out of their library. The service seems pretty good and their prices for purchasing are better then iTunes. The selection is great and purchased videos are viewable on up to 3 devices. The one issue that I see is that iPod is not supported. Everything else is pretty much supported. I do use an iPod Touch, but I also have a Archos that is actually better for viewing movies in my opinion. Although iPod owns the portable market, there are other portable players out there that people love and use!! Another cool feature from CinemaNow includes, Pay-per-View Movies from the major studios. I have never heard of CinemaNow until I ran across it at savings headquarters. Based on what I found out they have been around since 1999 with these milestones listed on their site.
- First Website to offer Pay-Per-View movies from major studios
- First Download-to-Own service for feature films
- First broadband distributor of high definition (HD) content
- First distributor of Download-to-Own movies from Disney
- First distributor of Burn-to-DVD movies from major studios
Check it out at CinemaNow. I found a good deal on some interesting indie films which are 30% at savings headquarters. Oh yeah the other interesting thing about CinemaNow is Burning your digital movies to actually DVD using Qflix(special burner). I am looking into Qflix now, and will post what I find out.
