In my Opinion Roxio Creator is the best DVD/CD and now blu-ray copying software package. I’ve tried several of the other popular DVD copy packages, but I always find Roxio has always been the most reliable. I am surprised how well it has worked for Blu-rays. Roxio Creator 2010 is great and has a ton features. Roxio Creator lets you burn and copy CD’s, DVD and blu-ray discs, rip CDs, digitize analog LPs, make and mix playlists, photo slideshows, cards, calendars and more, share stuff on mobile phone, iPod or YouTube. Roxio creator is only $99, which is a great deal for what you get in my opinion, and you can now save an additional 10% with roxio coupon at savingsheadquarters.com.
Here’s an interesting gadget for you. For only $49.99 you can get a TV Silencer or Stereo Silencer, which mutes and your TV or Stereo when the phone rings. The TV Silencer will mute your TV or stereo and even pause your DVD if your watching a DVD. Basically its an IR transmitter that you point to your TV and when you house phone rings, the electric pulse is detected(when phone rings) and sensout to the transmitter to pause your equipment. I’m pretty sure I can get the TV Silencer to work with my PVR satellite setup. After reading the install instructions on the TV Silencer website, it is clear that the TV Silencer is programmable. That means rather then programming the mute button, I will program it to hit the pause button on my PVR. When the phone rings PVR will pause my show. No Sound and no missing my shows. Great for elderly, busy house full of children, and for me home office. You can find more information at Savings Headquarters.
In response to jason’ bog about cinemanow and qflix on “CinemaNow Online Movie Rental and purchasing“. To turn your digital movies into DVD you require a Qflix Burner, and Qflix DVD media. The Media is available at Roxio. The Qflix burner is a Sonic solutions product and has just started shipping in Dells. If you order a Dell Studio XPS 435, Studio Desktop, Studio Slim Desktop and Studio XPS Desktop a internal Qflix drive is included. Pioneer is also selling external Qflix drives. The Qflix drive is the only drive that burns movies using CSS copy protection. For now CinemaNow is the only site that you can download movies that you can burn to disc.
I love movies, and its great entertainment for the family that’s cheap if you rent. Check out the Vudu Box at savingsheadquarters.com. Its pretty amazing and offers the largest selection of On-demand HD movies. I originally thought the $149 price tag for the Vudu box was expensive, since you still have to pay for the movies. After some thinking and reviewing some of the other services offered by netflixs, cable companies, and Apple TV, the Vudu Box is a great deal and I was sold. I have an HD TV and of course I want to utilize it. I’m spending on average $25 on blu-ray disc that I play on my PS3 or I go rent them for $5-$6. The problem I have with renting is the returning, and purchasing blu-rays is expensive. Also the available selection is never satisfying at the time, movies are either not out yet or all rented out. The cable companies suits my convenience needs, but the selection stinks. The Vudu Box has won a ton of awards and every review I read has been positive. Let me give you a list of why I love the Vudu Box. First, all new releases are available the same day the DVD or Bluray are released in stores. Second they have the biggest selection around.(over 13,000 titles) Third, their is a huge selection of .99 cent movies. Fourth, there is no monthly subscription or contract. Lasty, Vudu labs!! Vudu labs allows direct access to popular Internet sites such as YouTube, Flickr and Picasa. Also free On-demand television and games. I love watching everything on my Television, while sitting on the couch. Its a whole new Youtube experience and much better then watching youtube vids on my small laptop or desktop screen. Check out the Vudu Box at savingsheadquarters.com. Its worth the $149 for the Vudu Box. I guarantee that most people have spent much more on DVD and Blu-Rays that are now collecting dust.
For someone that considers himself a “gadget guy” and has been in the digital media business for almost 10 years, I was blown away when I came across the Myvu personal media viewers. Why hadn’t I seen this before?! After doing some research I had to share my new discovery with all of you.

Featured in The Wall Street Journal, Popular Science, New York Times, Time and iLounge, the company’s ground-breaking SolidOptex optical technology has received worldwide attention. Integrated into eyewear, sunglasses and safety wear, these lightweight, stylish displays allow you to view your portable media (ipod, iphone, MP4, DVD, Cell phones, camcorders) through a floating virtual screen in high resolution up to 640 x 480! With great sound, up to 4 hours battery life and functionality in any light, your portable media device becomes a “hands-free, full screen private viewing experience!”
I have not had the opportunity to use this product yet, but all the reviews are excellent. The price is still fairly high, so to save on your purchase, click here for Myvu online coupons and to learn more about the product.
I can’t wait to get a pair of these and I will post another blog after my purchase to give you a full review.
