When I use the term “Mac” I’m not talking about cosmetics, trucks or burgers, I’m referring to Apple computers.
After using Apple Computers for almost 10 years problem free, I would not even consider using anything else unless I was in a situation where I had no choice.
This being said, it’s not often I have the misfortune of having to struggle with a P.C.
There are times however when I am subjected to the frustration of P.C life. An example of a typical P.C meltdown was the other day when I was trying to help my friend print her airline tickets she purchased online. She usually uses a travel agent but I convinced her that it was cheap and easy to purchase tickets through websites like Priceline.com, Hotwire.com, Travelocity.ca and Expedia.ca. Purchasing a flight and saving money through online coupons is the easy part, but trying to make her P.C work properly is another story.
The computer took forever to boot, froze 4 times while trying to connect to the internet, couldn’t find the printer, had at least 10 warnings and errors and half an hour later after shutting down and rebooting several times the computer froze again in the middle of trying to print the tickets! We ended up having to go to my house and use my Mac desktop to print the tickets, which took a total of 5 minutes.
Macs start up almost instantly and I have never had any Mac freeze on me in 10 years.
The next day when she was leaving I tried to help her unload her photos from her camera onto her mom’s P.C so she could clear her memory card to take pictures on her trip. Another P.C and once again the computer took forever to boot, took several attempts to recognize the camera and kept shutting down for absolutely no reason. For brief periods where the computer remained on, the computer had no easy built in program to handle the incoming pictures. After 45 minutes and the computer shutting off about 14 times, the only option was for her to go purchase another memory card and they had to be on a flight in a couple of hours!
Who has the time to mess around with issues like this?
I promised her I would dump the photos on my Macbook Pro into iphoto and burn her a photo disk while she was away.
With amazing coupon savings for Macs at stores like MacMall and the infinite choices of Apple products at the Apple Store, there is just no reason to struggle with a P.C anymore. Take it from me, Macs are easier to use, look better, come loaded with advanced user-friendly programs and are very affordable.
Who has the time these days to fight with your computer? Isn’t it time you made your life easier and purchased a Mac?
