ElephantDrive offers an online backup or remote storage solution. I can name quite a few services out there that offer the same service, but Elephant Drive offers a few options that the others do not. Online backup makes sense if you think about it. I have been in the IT business for a long time and computer backup has always been an issue. Bottom line is people don’t do it, mainly because its a pain. Everything has been tried in the past, remote drive, usb keys, DVD, CD, etc. Pain in the but and I don’t know about you but I don’t like carrying a hard drive around and I’ve lost more USB keys then I’d like to mention. Oh yeah always keep one off-site in a safe spot, just in case. No one has time for that!! High speed Internet has really changed the backup game, and now backing up online is the way to go. Its dirt cheap, about $5mth with unlimited space. Only a little time consuming the first go around, since most of your files don’t change each day its automatic and seamless. Elephant drive, unlike some of the other services lets you archive your files and the ability to share files with friends/coworkers over the Internet. I use this feature a lot with my staff!! Its almost like cloud computing which I believe is the next big thing! Store nothing on your computer! If your concerned about your data, its safer with a trusted remote server then on your computer. I guarantee they have better network security then your software firewall(which most people don’t even use). Take a look at the free Elephant Drive trial and decide for yourself, get 2 months free, when you buy a year for $49.99. I have spent 10x that amount on backup software in the past.
CrossLoop lets qualified computer experts from all over the world help someone who needs help. Cross loop has an easy-to-use software application that allows desktop sharing. Desktop sharing is not new, but Cross utilizes it to help connect computer users with trusted, qualified service providers that will help fix your problem. Software problems, setting up hardware, antivirus, spyware problems and more. Cross Loop will connect you to a professional that will fix it for you at a low price. This service is also being offered by many of the large chains like Best Buy, but you will find CrossLoop much more affordable with the same results. Doing a quick review you will find someone to fix the most obscure problem or support issue. Nothing like a bunch of serious geeks that want to show off and help people by offering computer support. If you need computer support give Cross Loop at try. I have read that several small businesses are using Cross Loop instead of an IT staff, saving thousands of dollars a year. The only thing it can’t fix is no Internet connection!!
JR.com is having a Columbus sale. Lots of items are super cheap, so don’t miss out. JR.com is a great place to shop for computers and electronics. The selection is great, prices are great and service is fantastic. Without naming names I have shopped a most of the larger online electronic/computer stores, and have had some issues with returns and receiving damaged product. JR is the only store that I have not had a problem exchanging damaged good with no cost and more importantly no fight!!!!

Cisco’s network magic is great for home users and business users. It easily lets you add new computers and devices to your network, lets you easily protect against wireless intruders, repair and monitor your entire network, and you can easily view your entire network on a easy visual network map. Now I’m quite computer savy and setting up a router to share the Internet is a piece of cake, so my first reaction was this is a waste of money. After seeing it in action, Network Magic is worth every penny. It does make the process of adding computers and sharing printers a lot easier. It handled a Network Attached Storage(NAS) drive Seamlessly, which can be a little tricky for the novice. The best part of Network Magic is the implementation of security. Its easy to use graphic interface, blows away playing with a router, and allows easy control and management of your networks. You can get alerted if you are getting or someone is attempting to intrude your network. Network Magic starts at $25 and the Pro Edition is only $49.99. You can’t go wrong with Cisco’s Network Magic.
