The Gopr HD Hero 960 has a new “One Button Mode” feature.  It does not have the expansion bus like its big brother the full Gopro HD Hero.  The One button mode easily locks your gopro 960 into photo or video mode and the most handy thing is it starts recording automatically once you turn on the camera.  That means your ready to go with out fussing around.  No need to miss the chance for your great shot and as soon as the action starts you start recording.  The One button mode can be turned off and on.

If your looking for a Gopro I suggest the Gopro HD Hero over the new Gopro HD 960.  I know the price difference of $130 really sways you towards the newer Gopro 960, but it lacks some features that you will miss after you own one.  Don’t get me wrong I love my gopro 960, but I do notice a difference is sharpness on my 50″ plasma when compared to my budies Full HD Gopro Helmet Hero.  It’s still pretty good but you will notice a difference.  The other thing that I did not know when I purchased my Gopro was that the Battery pack add on does not work with the Gopro 960.  I also will not be able to use the LCD expansion when it launches.  The camera is still awesome and the price is right.  Just don’t base your decision to save a little money if the Gopro 960 doesn’t suit your needs.  If you are looking to mostly post your videos online, then the Gopro 960 may be the right choice.  If your hardcore with long sessions and want to make dvd video then go with the Gopro HD Hero.

The Gopro HD Helmet Hero is not the only Mountable Helmet HD Camera on the market.  In my opinion its the best one.  I have used a ContourHD Helmet cam and I have seen the Drift Helmet Camera.  There are several others, but none I have used or seen are as good as the Gopro cameras.  First off the Gopro HD Hero cameras are well priced.  The Drift is slightly more and I have seen a few that cost twice as much.  The ContourHD is actually about $20 bucks less the the Gopro, but I found that it did not mount well.  This is my big plus for the Gopro.  It mounts easily to your helmet and it has a replaceable case and lens.  Its also not only just made for the Helmet, so you can get a mount for just about anything and mount it where you want.  The quality is unbelievable, just check ou the videos on the Gopro website(gopro.com) shot of actual footage.  The footage on the Gopro website from CNN is also amazing.  CNN used the Gopro cameras to film the rescue shaft in the Chilean Miner rescue.  Quality on the Contour looked slightly off when I saw it, but the Drift videos I’ve seen look very good.  Gopro is launching true 3D expansion pack which is exciting. I am waiting patiently for this 3D option and hoping that they offer a Gopro coupon for existing users.  On Top of the mounts Gopro has a wrist casing that you can pop your Gopro camera into and take it diving or swimming.  Bottom line is the pricing on the Gopro cameras, unbelievable video quality, quality construction, and the endless mounting options make it the camera of choice in my opinion.  If your looking at one of the other helmet cameras, you have to consider the Gopro HD Hero and ask yourself can I mount this thing anywhere.

Gopro HD Wrist housing cost you $39 bucks for the Gopro HD Cameraand its lets you wear your camera like a watch.  The camera can pivot upwards to videos and photos.  It stays securely in postion and you can even fit it over your jacket or gloves.  I take mine for a swim in the lake.  Its too bad my lake is so dark you can’t see anything, but I’m sure I’m going to love it when I’m in the Caribbean this winter for holidays.  The Gopro Wrist housing is just another way to get some unique footage out of your Gopro, so use your imagination.
