The Gopro HD Hero 960 has finally launched and shipping.  Its big brother the Gopro HD Hero camera is a fantastic camera and I have  been anticipating the HD Hero 960 release to do a gopro hd hero 960 review.  The cost difference is significant between the hero 960 and its full HD hero big brother.  Gopro HD Hero 960 goes for $179 and the Full HD gopro camera goes for $299.  Both cameras are essentially identical, so function is the same, however I found that the gopro HD Hero 960 which only shoots at 960p,720p and 480p lacked some quality on my TV screen.  The 1080p and 60fps shooting modes on the Gopro HD Hero camera makes a big difference.  So the bottom line is its still a great camera at a great price and if your main focus is for Internet distribution and sharing via Vimeo or YouTube, go with the Gopro HD Hero 960.  If you want to make real videos and put them on DVD spend the extra hundred and thirty bucks and go with the Gopro HD Hero.
