The popularity of these things seems to be quite high.  I actually have one, but I don’t thinks its an Amish built one.  They are quite nice and provide sufficient heat for a specific room.  Alot of homes don’t heat evenly so an electric fireplace not only looks good, but will provided added comfort.  A flat panel TV fits perfectly on one of these fireplaces.  Ironically enough I paid $399 for mine, which is more then the Amish fireplace that’s going for two payments of $149 with free shipping.  My guess would be the quality would be better in the Amish built fireplace.
